French Club:  If you are in French Club, please consider designing a tee-shirt for us.  Info is HERE.

French 6:
Students continued to learn CLASSROOM VOCABULARY today.  We walked around and pronounced the words.  Students learned to say, "Tu veux," which means, "I want..."

This is a reminder that un/une both mean "a."  "Un" is masculine and "une" is feminine.  If you want to practice just this, there are exercises at the bottom of the OBJECTS page.

Homework: Do Spell to 100% on the objects in the classroom!  If you finish it tonight, you will get a 5-point bonus.  It is due Monday (which means Sunday night).  Be sure you are typinng in French.

If you didn't do match ten times, finish that. The listening assessment is on Tuesday.
Be sure to charge your surface!

NOTE:  Quizlet homework must be completed the NIGHT BEFORE.  If it is "due" Monday, it must be complete by Sunday night.  If you have a special event and must do it before school, your parent must email me before school and tell me that you did it, or I won't know to check and give you credit.

If you didn't do match ten times, finish that.
Be sure to charge your surface!

French Club:  There is a French Club meeting tomorrow.  Bring ideas for the tee-shirt design contest.

French 6:  Students continued to learn CLASSROOM VOCABULARY today.  I did an entire lesson on how to use Quizlet.  Students played match (10 times) and spell for CLASSROOM OBJECTS.

Homework: If you didn't do match ten times, finish that.

Do SPELL for Objects in the classroom. This will not be due until Monday (Sunday night), but you can start early:  Do Spell to 100% on the objects in the classroom!  If it is done by tonight, you will get the 10-point bonus.  Be sure you are typing in French.

NOTE:  Quizlet homework must be completed the NIGHT BEFORE.  If it is "due" Monday, it must be complete by Sunday night.  If you have a special event and must do it before school, your parent must email me before school and tell me that you did it, or I won't know to check and give you credit.

French 6:  Students started to learn CLASSROOM VOCABULARY today.  We talked about how all nouns in French have gender (feminine and masculine).

Homework:  I gave out a picture of a classroom.  Students should label all the objects in French.  They had ten minutes to start in class and should finish for homework.

NOTE- Don't do the crossword you got in class yet.

Be sure to charge your surface!
Want to get a bigger head start?  This will not be due until Monday, but you can start early:  Do Spell to 100% on the objects in the classroom!  If it is done by Thursday night, you will get the 10-point bonus.  Be sure you are typing in French.

Wow !  How can we go another two days without French !  Oh là là!

Here's some info for you so you can stay caught up in French:

We will still have the alphabet assessment when we get back.  Study the alphabet on the ALPHABET PAGE.

If you want to start learning numbers well, go to the NUMBERS PAGE.  Also, I am attaching a GUIDED NUMBERS STUDY PAGE for those who want to really practice.  I would recommend doing one page one day and one page the next.  Even if you don't have a printer, you can do this on blank paper.  While none of this is required, I highly recommend it.

We learned two new commands:  TROUVEZ (find) and MONTREZ-MOI (show me).

Today we also used white board markers to practice listening and writing.

French Club:  We will meet at 8:00 in D743. Membership form is attached.

After the assessment, students learned about COGNATES.  A cognate is a word that is similar or the same in more than one language.

Homework:  Please complete the COGNATE HOMEWORK.  One the first side, you have to check the cognates you know.  On the back, you have to guess the English meanings.  Then answer the questions about your "French dream" and things you would like to know how to say.  I will collect these tomorrow.

My hero and inspiration,
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968

"Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in."    - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s “Theory of Relativity” to serve. You don’t have to know the Second Theory of Thermal Dynamics in Physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”   - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
