Daniel Kang (class of '18) found this awesome, old map of Asia IN FRENCH! He explained that the country of Korea was first introduced to the western world during the Goryeo [Koryo] dynasty [918-1392]. The word Goryeo is where we got the word, ‘’Korea,’’ the French word ‘’Corée.’’ and all the names that the West has for Korea. The countries of northern Europe spell Korea with a ‘’K’’ while countries of southern Europe spell it with a ‘’C.’’ This map was created in the 1700s and has Korea labelled as "Corée."
