This story was really inspiring and I know I am always going to remember this.
At the end of the year or when we are not actually doing anything on class,we should make a poster dedicated to Courtney .....

Mme Steinhauer, I'm not sure I can express in words what I'm feeling right now. I just want to thank you for sharing and trusting this story with us. That means a lot. Merci.

Wow... Courtney seemed like one of those people everyone just loved and wanted to know and be friends with. This story is just so touching, and I think it's so cool, how you wanted to "bring Paris" to her. I love your room, but now I think this story is going to make me love it soooooo much more. 😊😊😊

Courtney sounds like her life was told by God R.I.P. Courtney!!!

What a touching story that I remember all too well. A precious angel of an amazing family that I am blessed to call friends. You made an incredible impact on Courtney and the gift of Love is God's greatest and reading this shows the gift at its greatest. You are a special woman who will always touch others. Thank you for sharing this as we approach a difficult time with the anniversary of Courtney's passing. She truly is an angel.

Thanks, Ms. Steinhauer, for creating this tribute to Courtney. I only knew Courtney through her mom and dad, but I was so happy to read your site and learn of her love for French and to hear her speaking in French. This tribute speaks volumes about the kind of teacher you are, especially when you said, "You never know which kid is going to affect you." As a Christian, I have the blessed hope that one day I will see Courtney again. Sincere thanks for all you have done and are doing for your students.

WOW! That was the best thing I have ever read even tho ive read so many books. That almost made me cry. I wish they find a cure for cancer soon so that they can help people like Courtney. I have always loved the classroom, but now I love much, much more. Thank you for sharing this with us! I have always been that one student that picks on your café stuff, but ill never do that again. I totally see what Greg means though but like no teacher understands that. Sorry about the loss of Courtney. :(

That was beautiful, but very depressing. I have always liked the classroom, but now I see the meaning to it, which makes me like it 100 times more. I am(was) one of those students who always picks on the wrap, and plays with the tables, but I see how much it means too you, and I wont be doing that again. I am very glad I found this. Shared this with all my friends, they all said this was the best thing ever. Greg was right tho, but few teachers understand that, there is so much going on at home and I hope that all my teachers realize that. I am very sorry about your loss.

I loved the story. It made me cry. I wish I could have helped Courtney. I would be 2 then though. Still, I hope her spirit lives on. I love your class even more now, Mrs. Steinhaur. I love your effort. I will care for your classroom like there is Courtney in every part of the class.

This story touched me mostly because I have seen that photo of Courtney and walked past it hundreds of times not knowing of what she had been through and that the classroom I go to everyday was inspired because of her.

My hero and inspiration,
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968

"Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in."    - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s “Theory of Relativity” to serve. You don’t have to know the Second Theory of Thermal Dynamics in Physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”   - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
